Check out Goeff Experience with the WLC and how it not only helped him loose weight but feel amazing and see big changes in his fitness!
I decided to join the whole life challenge early in 2016 because I had been doing crossfit 2-3 times a week and I didn’t feel like I was moving the needle on my fitness. When I heard about the challenge I noticed it emphasized a lot of things in my daily routine that I did not normally think about as important, it was just part of everyday life. I’m your average guy so I enjoy beer and LOVE pizza which is exactly why I was spinning my wheels achieving my fitness potential.
Once the challenge started I noticed changes pretty quickly. I found it wasn’t as tough as I thought not to eat whatever and whenever I wanted. I think a lot of people are afraid of that aspect with most challenges or diets but this challenge teaches you progress not perfection. If you have a work dinner or date night and your probably not going to eat or drink well its ok. You can earn extra points for those days or just lose a few points, it’s not like you failed and have to start over again you just wake up the next day and strive to do better.
The sleep part of the challenge is where I feel most of my progress was made. Forcing myself to get a good night’s sleep rather than binge watching Netflix until 1am really effected all areas of my life. About the middle of the second week I really started feeling amazing like literally didn’t know I could feel that great. I remember telling my mom that I noticed I was dancing and singing to the radio on my ride into work…. I don’t dance and I don’t sing but here I was at 6am killing it on I70.
At the end of the challenge I had lost 17lbs and improved my benchmark workout by almost 4 minutes, the workout meant the most to me because 17lbs doesn’t really sound like a lot of weight over 8 weeks but I knew if I could see major improvement on the workout it would help explain the whole muscle weighs more than fat to me. After the challenge ended I kept on track with about 90% of the challenge not because I had to or didn’t want to fall off the cliff again but because it was my new normal.
Now over time I have begun to slip here and there and noticed that it was time to shape up again and it was not a week after that thought Crossfit Vantage announced the next round. I’m very excited to participate yet again and I’m looking forward to feeling like the best me again. Plus if for nothing else it’s a great way to get in shape right before the holidays.
