One Badass Dad!
Tell us a little about yourself?
I’m a Colorado native. I grew up in Parker and then went to college in Boulder. I have a software consulting company, and I work from home. My wife, two daughters, chocolate lab, and I recently moved to Applewood, and I’m currently digging a four-foot-deep trampoline hole by hand in our backyard.
How and when did you get started with CrossFit?
I started doing CrossFit upon some subtle suggestions from my wife almost 8 years ago at the original Vantage location.
What recreational activities/hobbies to you do/have?
Cleaning up after my kids, wife, and dog (in no particular order), and I like to do anything outdoors, like camping, backpacking, and river sports. I also enjoy working with my hands and building things. And tequila.
What is your favorite cheat meal?
Deep dish pizza and some coors light.
What is your favorite thing about CrossFit?
Community, the people I’ve met are great. I also like that the workouts are always different, and there’s always something you can improve on (Jane Fonda hip complex, for example). My favorite movement is the squat clean, and my favorite WOD would involve cleans, rowing, and some strongman movements. Least favorite movement: turkish get ups.
What kind of positive affect has CrossFit had on you and your life?
CrossFit has improved my strength, mobility, nutrition, and confidence and brought great friends into my life. I would have never expected as an adult that I would be regularly dragging tires through alleys, doing handstands, getting in bar fights, and basically having recess every day.
