I worked in a big gym for years and everyday I would see the same faces. Some of them might talk to you, others might ignore you change the song on their ipod. It always felt like we were all just a group of individuals. Since we opened CrossFit Vantage, those days have become a distant memory.
If you read or see much on CrossFit, you will frequently hear the word community. This is not something you can fully understand until you witness and experience it for yourself. Today, I am very sad to say that we are losing a member of our community. I remember the first time I met Allison R. I believe it was a Saturday morning wod. After the WOD, I wasn’t sure I would ever see her again. Thankfully I was very wrong.
Allison has seen trimendous gains since she started here in August. Highly motivated since both her mom and brother CrossFit, she has a focus and intensity to everything she does. Allison has improved her range of motion improved her work capacity and body composition and seen huge strength gains. I can’t believe we’ve only been training together for 5 months. Allison could be seen at any hour of the day from 6am to 6pm. Monday thru Saturday. She is one of those athletes who would shut everything out and just go as hard as she could. We are all very sad to see her go. Not only was her effort second to none. But her attitude was always uplifting.
She sucks for leaving but we are very excited for her and the next chapter of her life story. Thank you Allison for allowing us the oportunity to get to know you. And giving us a reason to miss you.
Good Luck.
