Paleo Challenge: Day 14

We are half way through our First Paleo Challenge.  And from the conversations I have heard over the past few weeks, we are having the reactions we hoped we would.  People are feeling better, having more energy, performing better, and feeling the consequences of their cheat meals.

The first week to ten days can be hard, breaking the habits we’ve spent so long developing, fighting the sugar, snack food, alcohol cravings or planning out your meals in advance.  But now that you’re already two weeks in these issues aren’t nearly as catastrophic.  Now that you’re more than half way in you can really start to enjoy your new found nutrition.
The prepping and cooking isn’t such a task anymore, now you’re experimenting! You’re creating and finding new favorite foods or meals, force feeding your friends your latest creation.  The naysayers and haters have realized that you’re serious about this and not just jumping onto the latest fad diet.  And as your body continues to utilize it’s new found energy source using the nutrients you provide it, you will continue to see improvements in not only your athletic life but your everyday life as well.
The Paleo Diet is about using the foods that are Optimal for Human Performance.  We can function and survive on foods that are less than Optimal, but when we “live” off of them, we won’t get as much out of ourselves.  Our health and performance is compromised based on the foods we eat.  Switching to a paleo diet re-sets our body to perform inside and outside the gym at a more optimal level and provides us with all our nutritional needs.  When given the choice, why would you choose a lesser option? It’s not too late, well maybe for this challenge it is, but it’s never to late to make the switch for yourself.  IF you haven’t already, take the plunge and start YOUR paleo challenge.
