Over the past 5 years we have been forming our Philosophy on Training. We have sought out knowledge and come across a lot of different coaches and quite a few different styles. We’ve talked about beliefs and practiced different methods. The best has stuck with us, the rest has been tossed. Our Philosophy has evolved over the years and will continue to evolve as we grow as coaches and as people.
CrossFit Vantage Training Philosophy
The Foundation. The stronger you are the easier everything else becomes.
Strength + Mobility. Improve your range of motion and your strength in those ranges. Durability is your body’s ability to last without significant deterioration.
Will Power +Discipline. Where the mind goes the body will follow.
Strength + Cardio. Get more work done faster.
The Little Things. Improve all aspects of performance and life with what you eat, how much you eat and when you eat it.
Have Fun. Play
Do we really need to explain this one? Get Outside and Play.
Keep it Simple
“Virtuosity: Performing the common uncommonly well” Don’t over think or over complicate it, work hard, breath hard.
Avoid Routine. Change your stimuli to promote adaptation.
Train For a Reason
Goal Setting: Know where you want to go and enjoy the journey.
Movements not Muscles.
Single most important component to achieving results.
Recovery. Repair. Rebuild.
Our philosophy has been shaped by, Greg Glassman, Rob Shaul, Kelly Starrett, Dan John, Mike Burgener, Brian Cooper, Brian MacKenzie and the interaction and experiences with our athletes and friends.
