This month we chose 2 of the "funniest people in class" to highlight. We are always so grateful to see them show up with smiling faces and jokes for their whole class! Read Liz's story below!
Tell us a little about yourself?
I grew up in San Antonio and still have lots of love for Texas. Who doesn’t love breakfast tacos and big hair?! I’ve been in the oil and gas industry 13 years now. Working on the science side I love I’m constantly challenged and now I speak fluent nerd.
How and when did you get started with CrossFit?
I started CrossFit over 5 years ago before I went through my divorce. Somewhere between a new community of friends and lots of squats I came out happier and stronger than ever
What recreational activities/hobbies to you do/have?
I love cooking for friends and I’m always down for a glass of wine and laughs. Anything with my little dude Kane is an adventure, he keeps me laughing and always on my toes.
What is your favorite cheat meal?
Prosecco and pad Thai. Maybe together if that’s not too weird.
What is your favorite thing about CrossFit?
I love that I walk through that door having the best day or a tough day and no matter what, the outcome is positive. Kid meltdown, work stress, ridiculous first date….all the ups and downs walk in with you but then you get this gift of an hour with a group of bad asses to adjust your energy, push yourself, and always leave feeling like you can take on whatever life throws at you.
What kind of positive affect has CrossFit had on you and your life?
The sweetest friends, balance in my day, consistency when I travel all the time for work, the list goes on and on. Most importantly I think it’s made me a better mom to Kane. I want him to know women can close deals and pick up a barbell just as often as guys do. :)
Tell us your favorite joke!
I joke one of my deal breakers in dating is I can’t deadlift more than you. I’m kidding. Kind of…just a little bit. ;)
Kane’s joke this week is “what did the axe say when he knocked down the door? It was an AXE- ident”
