In our last blog post, we talked about looking back on your 2016 journey before we plan our 2017 adventure. In this post, we’re going to discuss the next step in planning your Fitness Journey. Prioritizing.
Goal Setting is Great, but s**t isn’t going to happen if You don’t take Deliberate Action. This is where prioritizing comes into play. If we just scribble a list of goals onto paper and say, “I’m going to Accomplish This” You might accomplish them, but who knows how long it will take and how much precious time you will waste. Prioritizing your goals and making mini goals on the way to your big goal will keep you on the right path.
First, give your Journey a theme. Take that Theme of Fitness for 2017 and put it on the Top of a sheet of paper (or online document).
Second, look at your goals for the year, where are commonalities, group them together. Is there any place you see where accomplishing one will help you on the way to another?
Third, make a choice. Which Goal is the most important to you? Once you’ve picked your Number One Priority, start prioritizing the rest of them. If you skip this step, it will be very easy to get distracted by the next shiny object that crosses your screen. Use these 6 1/2 questions to help you as you put your goals in order.
- What are most important to you? Scale of 1-10
- When do you want to accomplish this goal? How long will it take you to achieve this goal?
- What are milestones you will hit on the way you need/want to hit?
- What will help you get the goal, Training or Practice? (more on this later)
- What kind of resources do you have at your disposal?
- What are foreseeable setbacks?
BONUS: Who do you have around you that will help you achieve these Goals? Every little bit will help.
We know how challenging goal setting can be, especially on your own. If you are having trouble, be sure to send us an email through zenplanner or at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can set up a time to meet with you and help you review your goals and priorities.

You Need to Take Deliberate Steps toward Achieving them!!
Get To Work.
