What’s up everybody, I hope you’ve had a great week and are having an even greater weekend. I had mentioned in a previous post, that our first goal was to open on May 21, 2012. That’s two days from now. I’m here to tell you that there is no way in hell that’s going to happen. Believe me, I want it to happen more than anyone else, I’ve done everything in my power, but due to things way outside of my control it’s not going to.
It’s ok though, this is not the end of the world, I didn’t reach my goal on the date it I wanted. I’m not happy, but it doesn’t mean that the wheels come off and I go on a bender… waking up sometime on Monday with a tooth missing and a tiger in my bathroom. It means I keep working towards my goal of opening up the best damn CrossFit Box in Denver and providing outstanding coaching to any and all that seek it.
We set goals as targets, things to aim for and hit. If we miss short or in this case a little long it doesn’t mean all we work for is lost. It means that along the way we reached an obstacle. Something that we didn’t account for. Did it stop us from moving forward? Hell No it didn’t, it just slowed us down a bit. Did we learn from it? Hell Yes. Good, then it won’t get in our way next time.
Just because things don’t happen when we want them to doesn’t mean they’ll never happen. Rarely in life do things line up perfectly. There is always a bump in the road, a boulder in your path something that can trip you up or bring you to a halt. It’s at that point where you have a choice to make, do I stop or do I keep going and find another way around.
We found another way around, and we’re getting closer and closer to achieving our goal of Opening an Awesome Facility with Amazing Athletes (that’s you). Enjoy your weekend everybody.
