Transformation Tuesday

So this is a picture of me back in 2009 being extremely proud of the fact that I had 105 pounds overhead, next to a picture of me from this years Regional competition.

We talk about everyone being on their own CrossFit journey, but sometimes it is hard to understand where people started and what they did to get where they are now.  I think we are all also guilty of forgetting to look back and appreciate and be proud of all the gains we have made through our own personal journey.  It is easy to look ahead to where we want to be, but not always easy to look back and appreciate where we started.

In this 2009 me, there is no way I could have ever dreamed of reaching some of the CF milestones that I have accomplished as an athlete.  What has truly allowed me to enjoy and celebrate these milestones is keeping perspective on where I started.
I started CF using several bands for pull ups, jumping on 10 inch boxes rather then the 20 inch ones, scaling my weights far below the prescription, struggling to run sub 9 minute miles, doing push ups on the floor instead of HSPUs, and not being able to perform a single toes-2-bar.   It has taken me several years to get to where I am now.  And although my development as an athlete has not always been linear, and has definitely not been easy, I have stayed dedicated to the main mission and that is to get better every day and enjoy the process while doing it.
